I was looking to upgrade my 2080S and then give the 2080S to my son for Christmas.

Well forget that. There is nothing even close to reasonably priced. Hell even the 2080S which I think I paid like 700 something for is over 1000 dollars. I'm not going to pay 2000+ for a 3080. Insane.

I bet this is hurting other pc part manufacturers. If you can't get a graphics card then you likely might put off upgrading the rest of your pc.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

LMAO that's fucking retarded.

You seriously believe that? So NVIDIA is eating its own profits to offer cards to miners at below-MSRP prices out of the goodness of their hearts now?

Goddamn you people are fucking morons.

Hey simpleton, nVidia cards are made by about a dozen OEM's that are more than happy to partner with a crypto business for shared profitability.

You appear to have the reading comprehension of an 8 year old, and a business acumen of the average dumb nigger.

Let me spell it out for your smooth brain.

Crypto miner goes to OEM (ASUS, etc), offers a joint venture to mine and split the profit. Even at a 50/50 split, ETH at scale pays for the cards in months.

Keep your day job at McDonalds, anything else is going to make you someone elses liability.

I don't know enough about this one way or the other, but why wouldn't those OEMs just use their cards in their own mining rigs?

It's a lot more complex than just having the cards. Just because you can manufacture a GPU does not mean you can build a scaled data center to mine on them. After that, you need the expertise to know what to do with the crypto.

It's faster to partner with someone who has the expertise you need and share the reward. That's how Joint Ventures work.
