Three main reasons I'm looking to upgrade.

  • Half life Alyx
  • Microsoft Flight 2020
  • CSGO seems a little sluggish after being forced into the Win 10 upgrade.

Part Description Price
CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3800X $339.99
Mobo Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS $183.99
Memory G.Skill Flare X 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 $64.99
Storage Intel 660p 1 TB $134.99
GPU EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8 GB FTW3 $779.99
Case NZXT H710i ATX Mid Tower Case $169.99
PSU SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 850 W 80+ Gold $134.99
OS Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit $99.99
Total Price RIP my Wallet $1908.92

The Mobo is pricier than some other options, but I like the idea of the built in WiFi and Bluetooth. Really going back and forth on the 2070S vs the 2080S, hard to say if the limited extra performance is worth the ~230 bucks.

Go all in and get an AMD card. Only slightly not joking. The power is there but most games are developed with nvidia in mind. I've been happy with my full AMD rig but VR was a bitch even with a vega64.

Last time I went AMD GPU it was a nightmare.

They've come a long ways. Their drivers are rock solid now, even more so than invidia imo. Devs just need to stop sucking on invidia's tit, which many do due to kickbacks from. Money is money so I can't blame them.
