This past Christmas I was gifted a Mr. beer home brew kit. My first run was a pilsner, it was ok. My second was a bitter that I thought was pretty good so I tried to free style a chocolate orange recipe. That didn't work as well as I had hoped. Now I'm fermenting a lemon shandy. Three days in & it smells nice. It should be ready in about a month.

I've ordered ingredients for an apple ale that I think will be very nice a fit for the fall & I'm planning a cinnamon brown sugar oatmeal ale for the winter.

What are you brewing?

Throw that Mr. beer kit away and buy some real equipment. A brew pot over 7 gallons minimum, wort chiller and 5-6 gallon glass fermenters to start. As for the apple ale, just make a cider. Apple is actually a flaw in beer from weak yeast.
