Your mead, did you save it for a special moment like tonight or did you age it?
My in laws make shine and blueberry wine. I make beer. Been out of it since 2020 due to my move. I bought a grain father from a brewer assistant and will be joiniing up soon.
It's aged only about 7 months. I have more bottles that I'll let age for the full year to a year and a half. Mead tastes better aged, but I wanted to share some for the festivities.
Just cracked open some 5 yo mead, about 50% better than at 1 year. But not aged in bottles. Bottle aged is not as good.
I'll keep that in mind. I'm fairly new to brewing. I've read Mead is better when aged. I'll put a few bottles in a corner in my basement and forget about them. Did your bulk age it? I'm glass or a barrel?
