A few things to remember when brewing mead. Mead is notorious about needing nutrients or it can wind up having a bad odor. If you have no yeast nutrients you can make a small batch at home. Take a packet of bakers yeast dissolved into water and boil it. For extra nutrients throw in a small handful of raisins. Also, as with any wine, the lower the temp the slower the brewing. The slower the brew time the more flavor is retained. Mead is one of favorite brews.

Just for those wanting to make mead. Its very delicate to pick up certain flavors. Wash your stuff thoroughly. Mead isnt as forgiving as making other wines. Also splurge on good 100% honey not anything cut with corn syrup. Also use a good yeast and not bakers. Just my 2 cents. Honey isnt cheap so make sure you do it right.
