I'm sure one or more of you fucks will find issue with some part of this, and I hesitated to take time to share it because of that, but fuck you, poalrs are free

Be me, 6 months unemployed out of the military, drained the savings, land a job, apply for VA home loan. Approved, great rate, but need a bit more to cover closing costs. Ask parents for off-books loan - of course, those of you who have purchased real estate know that the relative has to write a letter saying it's not a loan, but a "gift". OK, done, but parents demand it be paid back anyway (fraud if I ever wanted to raise the issue, but meh).

aside, I paid my own way through college, but my sister they paid for all the way

Two years later, still hadn't paid it back but time to sell that house and move on to new job. Convinced parents to let me pay the loan back not to them, but forward to my sister as a gift for her and her fiancee as they save to buy their house and carry on the genes.

So they'll never get their money back to waste on the lavish retirement they have planned (retiring earlier than social security age with millions btw), and I didn't get any advantage but two years' time-value of money (interest-free), but at least I played on their favoritism for my sister to get the money passed on to her generation if not mine.

love parents, yet despite many conversations and sharing of articles, etc. they have never truly accepted their role in creating the economic conditions I and she face, so this seemed appropriate

Are you're parents Henry Kissinger and Angela Merkel?

It's weird that they needed to be tricked, but at least now they're actually helping others.
