Used to be the parents would play cool and not approach if I was out, do the old bird "try to lead me away" trick. Now that the young have hatched the ma and pa aren't as reserved in my presence. I just have to look away and in they go.

It's funny how much more pleasant a bluebird is compared to a blue jay. I like a good redwing blackbird, subtle, but awesome.

Bluejays are nasty. We had a Redwing blackbird that hung out in our back yard, I really learned to love their call... very complicated once you've heard it all the way through a few times.

I'll take the crackling grackles over bluejays any day. Though I'd definitely rather neither. Had a cardinal singing his song for me the other day. Beautiful bird
