Over the past month or so I've noticed crows have been dropping peanuts in the shell, burnt toast or hamburger buns in my birdbath, then coming back later to eat the softened food. Someone in the neighborhood is feeding the crows and they've realized that soaking the food in my birdbath makes it easier to eat.
It pretty much ruins the bathwater and I dump it out when I see it. Once in awhile if I catch it before it disintegrates I'll leave it out on a table.
