Get a conure they said. It will be fun they said. It will cuddle up with you and be your best friend they said.

And so we got a conure, and he was our best little friend. Until one day for no reason at all, he turned into a little pint-sized tyrant and made our lives miserable.

They are loud AF.

This one isn’t so loud. He/she (can’t tell the sex without a DNA test) can make some racket when he’s calling, but for the most part he just lurks under the bed and attacks my feet whenever I walk in the room. He’ll cuddle up with my wife, but he seems to harbor a special hatred for me.
