The owner's father was an artist, and did several calligraphic pieces for the company in the late 80s and early 90s.

The kid that took over from his folks and ragequit the company one day didn't take much that belonged to his parents, and this was one of the pieces left. I couldn't resist, it's a beautiful piece of artwork. I need to get the Chinese translated, all I know about it is the artist's name and the title of the poem.

"Spring Time," painted by Timothy Yu at age 78. The artist had a studio in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio.

Phenomenal.

I visited an exhibit "The Poetry Of The Zen Masters"

It was calligraphy of Japanese Zen Buddhists from 500 years, first time shown out of Japan. I was blown away by the stylization and the personality in every piece.

Probably sounds trite coming from a Western artist influenced by Dutch Masters but a wholly different yet equally moving style

And this is Chinese you say?

It's all Greek to me

There were other pieces there, including one with eagles, and a large poster-size essay about a fisherman. They were all quite beautiful works, and were about the only thing that was cheerful in the place.

Here's one of the other ones. A co-worker took it.
