I took this throwaway picture of the mallards while I was hiking today. I didn't even see the pair of wood ducks off to the right hiding in the brush. We don't get a whole lot of wood ducks around here, but I have been noticing more of them the past few years. Next time I'm out that way I'll have to keep a sharper eye and see if I can get a better picture. I honestly don't know how I missed them. I guess I was so focused on mallard on the left. I was thinking of cropping the shot around him. All in all it was a good day for a birding hike. Saw some bluebirds and red-winged blackbirds which I really enjoy.
