Natural Gas IS, the cleanest burning energy available. The other choice is Electric and the Grid Fails every year and will never be good enough to supply EVs and heat homes.

Unfortunately, your modern natural gas water heater is dependent on electricity for it's gas pre mix blower and controller that the Obama administration forced to make 80% efficiency.

This makes no sense at all, not that I would expect the government to make sense. Tankless heaters of any type are more efficient than traditional water heaters. Why would you want to regulate any of them out of existence?
