They’ve been closing off areas in the west for years now. As someone who has prospected, camped, climbed and generally only worked so I could do those things I’ve noticed bit by bit access to places being shut off as time went by. Gates or boulders blocking off roads or a place to park and camp that had been open for years. I’ve seen ghost towns and old mining camps dismantled by the forest service. The new topo maps leave out roads, trails and mines and other features. I’ve seen paved roads that once had tons of pull over places to go explore get repaved or widened, but leaving out all those spots and or No Parking signs posted.
