In a world where adventure and daring has been all but removed from life due to the feminization of the culture, fantasy has reached an unhealthy point as escapism. Myths and tales told around the fireside were meant to inspire the young to grow up strong and become the heroes described, both legitimate and legend.

Today, there’s no point where the time comes to set aside the stories of others and step into making your own. Add to that a world where injustice reigns and has been painted as insurmountable to the young, and males have been bred to wait for Superman rather than become a superior man.

This isn’t to say that myths, legends and even fantasy lack a place among men and boys. Tales of dragonslaying and demon hunting, when kept in context as symbolism, can be enjoyed and even inspiring, as long as the fabricated isn’t allowed to outpace or outstrip reality.

The tales should inspire action rather than promote helplessness, and should be coupled with regular activity and adventure in the real world - camping, building, prepping, hunting, and enhancing the body as well as the mind. They can serve as a tool to encourage growth and change if used properly.
