There was so much variety in that decade to still unpack...Waxtrax, Speed Metal, Industrial, Ska, Hardcore, Nu Romantic, New Wave, Underground Trance, Manchester Sound, etc. I chalk it up to so many record labels that could sell their stuff to small music store chains and of course MTV.
