TIL just the other day Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein (Von Frankenstein Monster Gear) makes guitar strings, so I ordered some. These are chonky heavies - I'm using these for jammin' in Drop C and C#. they do not like to go slow and sound better the harder you play.

That would make more sense, but hese strings are amazing, I ain't complaining! I havent had drop c sound so fluid.

I got em here: monster gear (vonfrankensteinmonstergear.com)

I'm curious to know which you end up trying

I play in C Standard with these strings DR DDT Bass Strings. (media.guitarcenter.com) Love them so far.

I use medium Ernie Balls for standard tuning, Edit I might try the heavy 55-125 Doyle strings.

thanks for the link - ill have to give these a shot.

I'm a bit reserved taking my setup to standard, so i guess ill either have to wait for change-out or just get another bass - i like the latter better.

Yea I have 3 electrics 2 4 string one 5 string, and an acoustic 4 string bass. So E Standard, C Standard and B Standard. Depending on what Im playing I take the E standard to drop D. I keep at standard because it keeps my scales right in my head, I get kinda fucked up on drop tunning, not thats it hard to figure out just more thinking hahaha.
