So I bought a Yamaha Acoustic guitar. And I love it. My son wanted a guitar and we ended up getting him a used Ibanez bass. Except now I found I REALLY REALLY like to play bass as apposed to guitar.

So looking for a new bass for under $300.

Found this guy which I really like. However Backordered, and Im impatiant.

Any recommendations? Im into hard rock, punk, metal etc.

Thanks

This was sadly the best fish pun I could think of in 30 minutes

Fuck me this is a fishing sub isnt it?

LOL. No sir, I'm just being unhelpful. You're in the right sub it looks like.

Go used. Ebay or whatever. Buy from a reputable shop. You'll get more for that $300 than a new one.

Used Peavey (suggestions from my gearhead bandmate.) Maybe an old Dean or Washburn from Korea or Japan but good luck finding one under $300.

Save up $500.

Nonsense. A bedroom player shouldn't spend more than 200 bucks on a new bass.

$250 gets you a used $500 bass

Craigslist or Facebook marketplace or flea market

Whadda ya need an electric one for? Just throw it out there in the field where it belongs, kids aren't going to do nothing but stand on them anyway!

New, you could get a Sterling Musicman for $299. They are fun to play and you get close to that classic stingray tone.

Squier short-scale Jaguar bass is fantastic. I've been playing semi-pro for 30 years, and have a ton of guitars...this one is a fave. Bridge pickup hums a bit, but just turn it off.

Deans are shit, and ugly as fuck.
