I was going to say just that. How did she get in the class?
It is probably no longer the case but in the US it -used- to be a parents right to request to sit in the back of the class if their child was in it.
I don't think it was a constant thing unless the kid had some sort of disability or did not speak English but at least a few times a year a parent would sit in the back of the room to watch the class.
We used to call it Parental Auditing here. I don't know if they still do it.
