I read another report this morning that said (Los Angeles?? (somewhere in Commiefornia)) was removing the cameras because they realized the Feds were using them to scan for illegals.

"This tool is important; the vendor is not what we want," she said. "If there was another vendor out there that can somehow work with police departments across our country, across Connecticut, that can protect the privacy of our citizens and the data that you're collecting. Please, by all means, give me a call. But for right now, we had to part ways with this private vendor for the safety of our citizens."

In other words, “We’ll try this again in a more covert way once the angry citizens turn their attention elsewhere.”

There will never be a vendor of public spy cameras that protects citizens privacy. That is not even possible.
