He means middle Eastern / Islam wars that are for the benefit of Israel.

I'm glad you were able to make your service productive and beneficial for you, I think military service should mean that - defence of your nations people and territories.

Where I live we have a military base and have a lot of fit young men being pushed around in wheelchairs.
