Agree. Police should have a very limited response on the scene of a fire. Basically they are only there initially to ensure the fire is not setup for an ambush, which likely a very rare senario. Investigators may have a role after the fire is extinguished when arson is suspected.
The fuckers should absolutely not impede the action of anyone in the name of safety as long as the action does not put others in the vicinity at extreme risk.
