Seat belt laws are unconstitutional, as are helmet laws. I personally recognize the safety provided and wear either depending on which vehicle I'm operating. A helmet has saved me from head trama on several occasions. A person should have the freedom to forgo the safety devices so long as they do nothing to protect others. Its also worth mentioned that both a seatbelt and helmet are not without fault. A seatbelt can slow you down if you need to quickly escape from the vehicle in an emergency, and a helmet restricts vision.
