He had it in the cooker wrapped for about 6 hours, pulled the foil and as the outside off the pork got crispy he carved of some pieces, kind of like a kebab. Only better.
The whole thing went on for about 12 hours, it was the whole back leg of the pig (minus the trotter). My buddy actually built it about 20 years ago... he used an old trash container for the material!
