I raised a hedgehog family myself. Got the mom, Leela (off futurama), from someone who had 2 hedgehogs and were getting rid of them. We all thought Leela was just a fat happy hedgehog. She was very sweet and hardly ever stood her spikes straight up. Well one morning I come out of my bedroom and go and look in her cage, and there were a bunch of pink little hedgehogs in there, with momma stressing out trying to get them all rounded up and brought back into her little igloo house. I made her a cardboard "hedgehog baby gate" that only she could climb over so her babies were better contained. That took some stress off her. Then a couple times a day I would VERY CAREFULLY, VERY QUIETLY, VERY GENTLY put a jar lid full of kitten formula in their igloo for the babies. Turned out that Leela LOVED the kitten formula stuff and drank most of it herself, and would just breastfeed her babies normally. She was such a good hedgehog momma. It was so cute when they all slept too, because Leela would almost lay on top of all her babies, with her legs sprawled out in different directions to keep them all covered the best she could. It was truly special helping and watching her raise her little of hoglets.

But ohhh boy once those baby hogs grew up a little bit into hyper, rambunctious, little assholes, momma had her hands full lol. They could eventually climb over her baby gate and she would have to chase them down and carry them back to her igloo.
