This is a huge reason why I try to only use gear that is local-first and that I can flash with my own firmware.
In a worst case situation I am smart enough I can make a patch to the firmware and update it with my own build.
Also, don't bother with the "fluffy" corp. speak. Just say "We decided that supporting this is costing us more money than what we make".
I wish companies that did this crap would just release documentation on how to flash a firmware and the keys they use (they don't even need to give you firmware source, someone else can build new firmware's in OSS).

After this date, several Wemo products will no longer be controllable through the Wemo app. Any features that rely on cloud connectivity, including remote access and voice assistant integrations, will no longer work.
