my new tomato seedlings are already 4 inches high! - Self seeded from earlier this year...

I chucked a couple of shovels full of my compost in there (it's generally loaded with tomatoe and pumpkin seeds of some sort), starting to get tomatoes coming up now, maybe they survive, maybe they don't. Mostly have left overs from what I had growing before I got the frame up and plastic on, so daikon radish, cabbages and wombok.

was in bunnings today to buy shit....real dirt...walked past bags of compost.....I wish they were'nt sterilised to get an unknown bounty.

I got some dirt from local garden supplies place. 6cubic meters of it, the truck got bogged on my lawn. Had a few mystery weeds in it, but nothing too worrying. From bunnings I normally only get their mushroom compost that I use when planting stuff out. Mostly I just compost my own stuff and add crushed charcoal as well. Lots of autumn leaves, some grass clippings veg scraps etc. I have a home made tumbler that most of the veg scraps go into, it's absolutely packed with worms.
