It's at the point of ridiculousness. Companies charge you a fee for charging you a fee.
Book a hotel? There's a fee to book the room. Pay cash? There's a fee for that. When you check out, there's a separate fee for checking out. I shit you not. Go to a big city and book a hotel. They don't tell you in advance there's an additional fee at checkout you must pay. This is in fucking insane.
And don't get me started with restaurant "kitchen appreciation" fees and other add on fees that you don't learn about until you get your bill.
Oh, and my favorite: airline fees. You want a seat? There's a fee for that. Want to bring something with you? There's a fee for that too. Want to eat on your flight? That's another fee. And on and on...
(PS) how did I forget the ubiquitous tip demands now? Holly fuck! POS systems are all programmed to demand a tip even when you don't get service! And they're begging for 20% or more!
