I'd need some definite confirmation that it isn't some sort of equipment malfunction. If there were a rapid 50-100m change in sea level, that sort of energy would radiate extremely rapidly and would have already impacted the coast of Australia, India and Africa. The fact that nothing interesting appears to have happened would suggest that this is likely an equipment malfunction.
