The worse case scenario's are end times bad.
Best case scenario, the magnetic poles continue their movement eventually to return to the pole positions, with opposite polarity.
Worse case scenario, the planet itself does a 90 degree flip, moving the equator to the poles, and the poles to the equator.
Meanwhile, the wind and the water are still spinning sideways, at 1400 kph. So that's wind, and oceans, moving sideways across continents, at the speed of sound.

I'd need some definite confirmation that it isn't some sort of equipment malfunction.
If there were a rapid 50-100m change in sea level, that sort of energy would radiate extremely rapidly and would have already impacted the coast of Australia, India and Africa. The fact that nothing interesting appears to have happened would suggest that this is likely an equipment malfunction.
