They're now including rapid antigen test results in the "cases" reported. This is just fucking absurd. There is no idea of how many tests are conducted, and no guarantee of the veracity of the results even taking into account the limited accuracy of such tests as conducted by totally untrained people in completely uncontrolled circumstances.
This is ONLY useful for fearmongering.
Apparently, over 60000 of these "cases" is self reported RAT test results. I've been tracking the positivity rates in NSW and Vic to see how the outbreak is progressing. Was looking like it was peeking over the last couple of days, expecting a swift reduction in positivity rate over the next few weeks then it'll be done, same as in South Africa. High vaxx rates may exacerbate the outbreak here though as those fuckers look to be more susceptible to this strain.
