This is typical for Canberra as although it's the federal capital of Australia and everyone thinks it's a heavily fortified city, in reality it's a very quiet place 100kms from anywhere and being on federal land, the NSW and VIC riot cops you're used to seeing in protest footage don't have jurisdiction there.
