25 years ago, my brother was in the military and he told me the plan always was to send preachers/church leaders to the door and the men would be put on one truck and women and children on another and the people were to be told it might be a year or longer before they saw each again. He told me they actually drilled it over and over again with "crisis actors". I wonder if the preachers have been replaced with "qualified medical professionals".

Tell them to head for Texas or Florida as their best bet, Elsewhere in the USA and it might be going from the frying pan into the fire. The Commie plague is sweeping the Western world including the USA, most important to avoid the North.

Tourist areas are perhaps the best for now. Good law enforcement and local governments are addicted to the revenues they generate, so they like to keep these areas cleaned up and peaceful.

I retreated to a tourist area myself last year for this reason among others. Life remains somewhat normal here.

Just stay out of the cities. Policy enforcement focuses on the cities, and they are falling apart as a result. That's the greatest danger for now. Outlying regions simply lack the government infrastructure for much in the way of policy enforcement. A town of 40,000 or less population offers perhaps the best mix of rural living with modern comforts, land prices remain comparably reasonable, and the job market is excellent.

You are surely correct about the cities, I havent thought of the tourist area situation. The country is and will continue to be the safest place. I closed on a house in the country recently. Lots of fertile land and a large barn. Putting energy into self sufficiency and building community has been far more enjoyable than being stuck in a collapsing urban jungle.

Enjoy the snow and cold. Its going to be a chilly winter.
