Sydney has not been locked down anywhere near as long a Melbourne. I talked to police once and maritime once in the last 1.5years. The police were stopping people from going into the city as there was a demonstration on. They were curious about me being outside of the 5km rule. The maritime guy wanted to know why I was swimming out in the harbour without a flag. Police otherwise didn't care if you were outside the 5km area. They were just interested in stopping protests.

He is the reason though. Since well before the pandemic began, he's been pandering to militant woke groups and smothering the spirit of this city, trying to turn it into a Marxist utopia where everything is now so heavily regulated it's no longer worth striving to do anything. He even passed into law that you can't put a net over a fruit tree in your backyard unless the mesh is a certain size, otherwise you can be fined thousands of dollars.
