Dan Andrews instead shifted to passing a motion to delay the senate vote, fearing Somyurek would turn up at the last minute and defeat it, effectively destroying all COVID restrictions on the public in December. Dan Andrews had previously brought forward the vote claiming it was urgent. His emergency powers are due to expire soon so he requires permanent powers to replace them, because he's a sick fuck. But apparently (could be wrong here) if Somyurek had been present, his government would not have been able to get their delaying motion through, and the bill would be defeated on the same day. So was he 'prevented' from being there today?
