Not impossible; going pretty far out on a limb IMO. An EKG (and a stress test) would've been used to make a diagnosis which led to the defib being implanted. It could have been falsified but cardiologists don't really have skin in the game. It'd require a huge conspiracy.

When hundreds of people are having unexplained heart attacks - including dozens of athletes suddenly falling over in the middle of their games - that's an entirely different matter.
