Gee, I hope those fellows don’t have wireless devices installed in their trucks, like citizens band radios or Ham radios, otherwise they could freely communicate with each other….just saying. “go truckies!”
In the US all truckers have what we call CB radios. It looks like Australia probably has the same thing with the same kind of popularity.
With it's popularity, there should be several people at home near those trucker lines with both CB radios & access to the internet (or at least could pop down to a local autopart store or radio shack and purchase a cheap CB radio).
Then community with the trucker convoy's and repost updates on the internet.
I know, and those Aussie truckers don’t follow the rules either. One time while flying over the pacific, in the middle of the night, out of boredom we tuned up CB frequencies on the HF just to see what we could hear. We heard the grey fox out of Adelaide driving somewhere in Oz. We chatted then he asked us what were we hauling and where were we headed. “We’re hauling fruits and vegetables, headed for Wake island, driving a C-141 Starlifter.” Fun times!
Edit to add: A CB radio is line of sight communication, unless the signal is highly (and illegally) amplified. However, under the right atmospheric conditions it can be reflected and travel further, science!
Canadians use both CB and digital frequencies. Digital is good for an up to 80km/50mi and dependable for 30km/18mi radius. Digital radios are a lot more expensive and require a licence. I don't know if these same frequencies are used elsewhere though.

Lol. Most drivers in the US don't have radios anymore. The ones that do, only turn them on when they're in a back up or to talk shit.
That’s why I got my ham radio license and put an HF radio in my truck. I got stuck in a traffic jam that involved 20,000 plus cars in a small area. Cellphones stopped working the networks were jammed and useless. I experimented with CB but found they are just kids walkie-talkies mounted in a car, good for 1 mile line of sight, maybe four on a good day with a good setup?
No worries - they didn’t even show up!
