If you put yourself in the shoes of the blue pilled layman, as far as he's concerned, he's part of the march towards victory in a glorious battle. The cool TV news graphics are the banner he marches under.

To him, the mood created for him feels so right that someone who responds to the same news with a scowl or seems reluctant to join in the glorious fight must seem mentally deranged, or even a traitor to their patriotic duty.
