No, there were some Africans in Australia's early days. There are different historical sources.
Europe did have some black people - that is NOT to say they were as numerous as outfits as the BBC would have you believe, but there were some. Queen Elizabeth I, Good Queen Bess, even expelled 500 Africans from England because they were taking employment away from Englishmen.
