My brain still grinds to a halt any time you non North American English speakers refer to Indians as "Asian" (yes, Christ sake I know the Indian Sub Continent is in "Asia" but so is Kiev [Vladivostok], but you don't call the Russkies "Asian" now do you). The brits are even worse. "Asian grooming gangs" they mean paki rapists.

They are all from the Orient (Asian subcontinent) so it makes sense, but no Australian has even called an Indian an Asian. Indians are Indians, dot heads, pajeets, whilst Orientals are Asians.
