That was my take away while visiting Hawaii. A giant wellfare class of Samoans and an angry middle class of extremely hard working Japanese. Sprinkled in for effect are some millenials hoping to shack up with some boomer retirees.

Coconuts are lazy and violent, I remember getting into some heavy scraps with them back in my 20s. Like you said welfare leaches that have a predilection to joining gangs, but then go to coconut church on weekends to be "good boys".
