Is it? Isn't it limited to hunting and farming activities?
I'm talking about training the urban populace, even non-farmers, to learn how to shoot for invasion-repellance purposes.

No
Anyone can apply for gun ownership, full automatics are restricted to active armed service personnel. Registration requires criminal history checks, ammo and guns must be kept in separate lockers always locked. Lockers will be checked by police regularly. You must attend firearms training and range or have your licence revoked.
Current firearms regulations in Australia are great. No way I want niggers, muslims, tatto'd POS, wops, coconuts, gang bangers, organised crime or junkies with easy access to guns.
Anyone can get a gun at anytime, provided youre not a dropped cunt acting like a monkey. It's no harder to get a gun then it is to procure a lesser class 2 security licence.
Still different from a national service as that teaches you many other things for national defence by conscripts and the guns are for killing enemy combatants in a war setting, not confined to pistols like in a gun club.
not confined to pistols like in a gun club.
You need a special licence for pistols. Generally, the easiest licence classes are shotgun and rifle. Do some research.
