It appears that their were people that didn't like oil companies as in hardcore environmentalist that tried to put them out of business. Hell if right when they knew they couldn't keep running someone should have put sell it all at what you owe. Then a company that knows how to handle this would have maintained the rigs. Paid taxes and had taxable oil to sell. Instead it's a AOC type $200 million debt instead of an asset. So many levels of fucking up on all parties sides. Hell the government should sell the rigs to someone to maintain them and then instead of cleanup a producing rig. Hell push them to sell for even$100 million or $50 million to save $200 million.
