The best route would be for them to buy a lot of smaller cheaper ones then unlike one they can use them to swarm and enemy fleet of ships with torpedo's coming in from multiple directions making it tough unless ships are equipped with AI trackers to defend against. I say trackers since I would only use AI in support role of information gathering and processing and keep the human in charge of controlling the ship. Also it would be harder to destroy 50 subs versus 2. I also think until China adsorbs all the countries around it on the mainland area and Japan Phillipines and Taiwan they will not be trying to attack such a large target as Australia and instead gather up the small countries into a mega sized China. I also know that attach that 5 gorges dam that supplies a majority of power to China's cities would require not a nuke but a squadron of fast aircraft or even drones with bombs or missiles to bust the dam and kill the power and flood out anything that is downriver. It's not nukes besides hitting the countries capital but conventional missiles hitting that dam that would disable half their country like in American hitting the Hoover dam would kill power in a large area of the US and cause devastation across the south west US in flooding, lack of power, and loss of water resource for southern California and the US military likely has missiles in abundance to shoot down anything that is deems is a threat that occurrence. Yeah I'm sure a lot of politicians received compensation for that overpriced garbage contract secretly since it's a foolish purchase like so many of our own foolish over priced contracts for defense have shown to be. I'm sure in his second term with a real congress for once not dem or RINO led we'll be seeing some defense contracts dropped or renegotiated by Trump like the airforce one deal he so masterfully got the price to drop like a rock.
