Andrew Abercrombie's Aspen troupe in splendid COVID-19 isolation.
The Melbourne-based Financial Review Rich Lister and his son James hosted a cocktail party nearly two weeks ago at his third floor, three bedroom apartment atop North of Nell, right by the gondola at the base of Aspen Mountain. Another guest was former IOOF chief executive Chris Kelaher, fresh from seeing off the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority in Federal Court last September.
One of the guests immediately returned to Australia, fell ill and tested positive for COVID-19. The news filtered back as if by messenger pigeon, and the soiree’s other attendees self-reported earlier this week. A sorry end to their holiday.
They are understood to have been among a large group of wealthy Australians - most from Melbourne - who had been on a 10-day skiing trip organised by Flexigroup founder and Liberal Party insider Andrew Abercrombie.
