Cradle, Volume 1 - Unsouled

By: Will Wight

Narrated by: Travis Baldree

Fantasy

Publisher's Summary Sacred artists follow a thousand Paths to power, using their souls to control the forces of the natural world. Lindon is Unsouled, forbidden to learn the sacred arts of his clan. When faced with a looming fate he cannot ignore, he must rise beyond anything he's ever known...and forge his own Path.

Interesting book. I passed over this book a few times and finally gave it a try because of a recommendation. The story starts a little slow but it might just be me getting used to a new story. This is the first book in a series so most of the book is introducingng your characters and setting up the plot for the rest of the series. As the story unwinds and the characters build I find myself getting lost in the world that the author has created. While listening to this book i get a KingKiller (audible.com) vibe. The narration was great and I have no complaints. This is a shorter listen clocking in at 8h 14m. I enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series, which has 6 books so far.
