There’s no bulge because there’s no curvature.

A body of water at rest ALWAYS finds its level, that why you can skate on frozen lakes. That’s why the Bolivian salt flats act as a mirror or the sky. That’s why we can see land far away, that should be ‘behind the horizon’.

The planet is (said to be) enormous. You think an ice skater would be able to detect the bulge?

Even in a flat world (which it could be) if we purposefully created a bulging ice rink on the flat earth mimicking the globe model it would be enormous and undetectable to the ice skater
