With that in mind, it looks like the projectile from a shell rather than the whole cartridge. Maybe a WWII type 37 mm, but ya got me. My original thought was it was maybe a sixties era lamp that had a 'missile or rocket' type design ... but it didn't look close enough to say that. Good question though.
