I tried this and it did not work,

the sub I was trying to create was "QuitTryingToTeachMeShitIdontWannaKnowAsIAmHappyWithMyUnderstandingOfTheWorldAsIKnowItToday"

Wouldn't let me do it. Something came/popped up trying to teach me something, but I just ignored it.

It's a lot like building a regular boat, but you have to be careful with ballast placement and flotation tanks with pumps, to enable variable bouyancy. Submarines are complicated.

Your upper deck clearly needs to be exceptionally watertight, obviously.
