What meaning do you see in existence

What meaning do you see in existence

Whether the truth makes you feel good or not is irrelevant to the discussion. (As an aside, if you're going to choose what to believe based on whether it makes you feel good you might as well tell us all now how loves trumps hate and we're all just conspiracy theorists who believe awful things and abortion is just a simple medical procedure and shit -- all of these things feel better than reality and yet that's irrelevant to reality.)

You've switched from higher purpose to higher power, which is a little confusing and not something I'm sure I want to argue against. Needless to say, I'm not unsympathetic to nihilists who need salvation once all their pleasure-seeking tendencies have started to creep on them.

But it's perfectly reasonable to avoid happiness short-circuits through nothing more than your sheer biological will to live since you know these things will destroy you if you indulge too much. Naturally, you fill your time with things that create real happiness, which some of you might call higher purpose. But if you do these things because you want to live (and live on in future generations), can we really say they are higher than biology? Maybe they are just part of what's natural, and the popular belief that a higher purpose than that exists is an inversion of the true order of things.

For that matter (ok I will address higher powers), who is to say the pursuit of life, and the will to pursue life, is not divine? And if it is, why would you subordinate that in importance to some secondary, terrestrial purpose?
