It sounds like you were looking for something you haven't played before...to be fair I have never played megaman nor metroid, I have no idea if they are RPG...another classic, Zelda

I haven't played the original, but metroid on gba was awesome.

Metroid is more of an RPG than Mega Man at least, you earn better gear and abilities as you go on.
All the Metroids are good, the one SNES especially.
